Silicon crystal is the main form in which silicon is used in the production of photovoltaic cells and solid-state electronic devices. These products are obtained by planar technologies, that is by aggregate processing steps used in the production of flat, surface (planar) semiconductor devices and integrated circuits.
Silicon crystal is divided into three basic groups depending on its purpose:
- Silicon used for production of solid state electronic devices, chips, etc. This type of silicon is called "electronic silicon." The specific content of pure silicon crystal mass is 99.999% by weight, and its lifetime is more than 25 ms, which is the highest index. The electrical resistivity varies from 0.001 to 150 ohms / cm (resistance level is specified by the amount of added impurity).
- Silicon assigned for the production of photovoltaic cells, otherwise known as solar panels. This type of silicon, also referred to as "silicon solar" comprises 99.99% of silicon in its structure, has a lifetime of nonequilibrium carriers up to 25 microseconds and its electrical resistivity is 10 ohm / cm.
- Industrial silicon representing a block of silicon and polycrystalline structure obtained by carbothermic reduction of quartz sand. It is composed of 98% silicon, and its major part is carbon; has a high content of boron, phosphorus, aluminum. This type of silicon is the base for the preparation of polycrystalline silicon.
Our company sells silicon of types: SC-0 and SC-00, obtained in accordance with GOST 2169-69. Silicon crystal is packed in big soft containers – “big bags” and weighs 1000 kg.
